Crafting helped me stop smoking in 2006  and became ingrained in my weekly life.  Two years ago it provided a way to keep my mind busy and my hands so that I wouldn't be reaching for a cigarette and a lighter, but instead a glue gun, cross stitch floss, a pair of scissors, or any object necessary for my completion of my present project.  Now with all of the nicotine cravings gone, crafting has taken on a new role as a stress-free way to be creative and an outlet.

As I increased my stock of creative items I made, having already given many away as Christmas presents and gifts throughout the year, with limited wall and horizontal space, I put a few items up for sale on Ebay.com.  We all know how Ebay works - sometimes.  I then heard of a really cool site on the internet specifically for handmade items called Etsy.  Looking further into Etsy about how to sell my wares there, I found it was run similarly to Ebay just without the "auction".  Pay to list, pay again based on sale price, then you may or may not have to pay a third time to Paypal for just accepting a payment!  By the time all this is said and done, you the seller might end up with half the money!  Not a deal at all.  No guarantee that you would sell your item, ever.  The more items you list, the more you have to pay.  Ridiculous, complicated, and a waste of time, money, and effort.

The idea of "What A Load Of Craft" didn't come to me overnight.  I, just like thousands of other people out there, struggled with the ins and outs and fine print of Ebay and Etsy only to be nickle and dimed.  With that in mind, at WALOC you pay a yearly fee to list your wares - as many as you like in as many of our different forums as you want.  Simple.  Better priced than anyone out there.  No fine print.

Crafting should not be a hassle and selling what you've made shouldn't be either.  That's our goal here- to make the whole apsect of crafting and selling easy.
