Merchandising Tips
Here's some advice that will hopefully make you a successful waloc vendor!

Photos
Try to take pictures of your items in a well-lit room without using the flash on your camera, if possible.  This will eliminate glare and help the colors be more clear.  If you notice a distinct difference in the appearance in the picture from the actual item, please disclose it in the description.  For small items, like jewelry, the background should be a solid color, as not to distract from the beauty of the piece.

Remember, because we're in a virtual setting, the pictures are the only contact buyers will have with your item before purchase.  The more clearly they are depicted, the more likely they will draw interest.

Pricing

For crafters that aren't accustomed to selling their pieces, pricing can be a little stressful at first.  Do not devalue the work you do by pricing too low!  Keep in mind the time it took you to create the piece.  How much did you spend on supplies?  How complicated was the process?

If you need help with pricing, take a look at the prices for similar items elsewhere.  Still stumped?  Ask one of our admin or mods on the forum for assistance.  We are here to help you be a success!

Shipping

You would think we wouldn't need to say this, but please pay close attention:

OBTAIN DELIVERY CONFIRMATION FOR EVERY PACKAGE, EVERY TIME.

Insuring the package is optional, and between the vendor and the buyer.  Once payment has been received, please mail the package within 3 business days.  Provide the buyer with the delivery confirmation number.

Please do not overcharge for shipping.  The US Postal Service provides flat-rate options that can really save time and money for both the vendor and buyer.  Take advantage of this service!

If your item is fragile, use packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or shredded newspaper.  You took time and care making the item, and someone cares enough about it to purchase it - make sure it gets there in one piece!
